OKC Bounty Hunters salvage weekend with 68-0 win over Oklahoma Nightmare 7/19

The Bounty Hunters technically picked up two wins today. After the Wichita Falls Nighthawks folded, OKC had tonight’s game scheduled against the Nightmare with less than 24 hours notice.

With the win, the Bounty Hunters improve to 8-1 overall in the Summer, 2014 schedule (7-1 against Gridiron Development Football League). The game tonight was the first game played at Putnam City Stadium since OKC defeated the Texas Eagles 51-18 in a home contest played June 7th.

The Nighthawks were the third team to fold in the GDFL this season, giving the Bounty Hunters their fourth win via forfeit in the national GDFL schedule. This happened after OKC won the Xclusive Football League based out of Texas during this past winter with a 13-0 record.

The Nightmare were the winter champions of a local winter league based in Oklahoma (Xtreme Football League) with a 6-1 record, with tonight’s game being the first contest played in over two months.

Next week, the Bounty Hunters will play against the Dallas Anarchy in the regular season final at Putnam City Stadium, with a 6:00 p.m. kickoff. The game will be broadcast on 107.7 FM The Franchise in Oklahoma City, with a full recap of the game being posted on over the weekend.
